Mrs. Lisa Chams

Mrs. Lisa Chams is the dedicated Menahelet of Lev Torah Girls Elementary School. With a passion for education and a deep commitment to nurturing the spiritual and academic growth of her talmidot, Mrs. Chams leads with warmth and vision. Her leadership encourages an environment of excellence, where each girl is encouraged to reach her full potential in both Torah and general studies. Known for her unwavering dedication to the values of Lev Torah, Mrs. Chams plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the next generation of community girls.

In addition to her role as Menahelet, she teaches weekly classes in hashkafa and Halacha to the mothers of Lev Torah, strengthening the vital bond between mothers, students, and the community.

Mrs. Stella Tawil

Mrs. Stella Tawil is a devoted and passionate educator, currently serving as the Dean of Students at Yeshivat Lev Torah Girls Elementary. With over 18 years of experience in student affairs and education, Mrs. Tawil is deeply committed to nurturing an inclusive, supportive, and engaging environment for all her students. She works closely with faculty, staff, and students to ensure each girl has a positive and enriching growth experience.
Mrs. Tawil’s curriculum is shaped by the teachings of her esteemed mentors, including Rabbi Wainkrantz, Mrs. Beck, Rabbi Chaim Dahan, Rabbi Weinberg, and Mrs. Zahava Braunstein, whom she considers her guiding lights in education. She refers to her curriculum as a “labor of love,” which she honed over her years in education, with the goal of imparting her lessons with enthusiasm, depth, and an unwavering devotion to Hashem and the Torah.
Mrs. Tawil derives tremendous satisfaction from watching her students grow into refined, modest B’not Yisrael, demonstrating both academic excellence and strong moral character.

Mrs. Chana Gugenheimer

Mrs. Gugenheimer joined Lev Torah as English Assistant Principal in September 2022, bringing with her decades of experience in education. Her career began in Brooklyn, where she taught for eight years—Hebrew studies for fourth, fifth, and seventh grades, and English Language Arts for high school grades ninth through eleventh at Beth Hanna. She then taught at Bnot Zion in Brooklyn for three years before being appointed as the principal.
As principal of Bnot Zion for over three decades, Mrs. Gugenheimer was deeply involved in all areas of education and child development. Her expertise helped resolve many complex and challenging situations through her guidance, advice, and experience. She believes that a school’s responsibility is to bring out the best in each child. Every child is a whole world, and she believes that they will one day carry the responsibility of teaching their own children.
Mrs. Gugenheimer is a graduate of Beth Jacob, where she earned a certificate in education, leadership, curriculum development, child psychology, and mentoring.
She views education as a lifelong process and is eager to continue learning about the uniqueness of Lev Torah and its community. She is committed to uniting her extensive experience, openness to learn, and child-centered approach to support the students. Recognizing that the relationships between families and the school are crucial to student success, she encourages parents’ involvement in every way possible. Mrs. Gugenheimer often says: “There is no more rewarding job in the world” than working with students.
